here is a site i came across, cant even remember how,..it looks like a good site for those of you detectorist that would love to return found property such as rings to there owners...from the info i got it cost 40.00 bucks a year to have your name in the directory but the rewards might be worth it...

It is worth looking at..so far there are only 3 ppl from new zealand that belong to it....i enjoy finding rings and dont mind keeping
some but if i can return them to there owners and get a small reward for finding it then i am just as happy as i love the hobby.

http://theringfinders.com/

would love to hear other veiws on it.
Cheers
Chris

im not sure on that yet kiwi,..i havnt even found the area for lost stuff yet...lol...i thought it was just a directory where people would call someone from there area on the directory list to go out and find there lost item...i didnt know there was a lost section...will have to recheck it now.
And yes alot of reading..also gives a few good idea where things might be found and how to do a good grid search.

There's another site out there where people post if they lose a ring. Not called ringlosers.com though :)

Lost of sob stories of guys proposing to their girlfriend while on holiday in the caribbean, girl puts on ring, and they run into the warm water for a quicky and when they come out the ring is gone because it wasn't fitted correctly and they were too busy to notice it fell off.
