Just a reminder that we will be getting together again next Sunday (not tomorrow but the 29th April) at Papanui Working Mens Club in Sawyers Arms Rd at around 7.30. Over the last few weeks many of us in the Christchurch area have had the privilege of making new acquaintances and searching alongside people we had never met before, so hopefully the modest turnout of our last meeting (the first) will be improved upon.

No agenda still, early days yet, just the chance to have a beer with fellow enthusiasts. All welcome of course, the more the merrier. Feel free to bring along any interesting finds to aid the conversation and generally fire each other up!! Hope to see you there.

I'll be there too.

If anyone's going that has any old broken detectors or coils, I'd appreciate donations to my "pull 'em apart and see what makes them tick" laboratory, so bring 'em along with you.

Cheers,

We're conflicting with a rugby game? Wouldn't the bar be full of loud drunk rugby supporters?

There's a thought. Too late to reschedule I reckon, but I still think the place is big enough for us to find peace in a corner. Have some faith, it'll be fine ;-)

Hi Martin, its in Sawyers Arms Road, not sure of the number but not hard to find as it doesnt quite blend in with all those houses in the street! Coming from Papanui Rd its about half way down on the right hand side. The entrance to the place is round the back which caught us out last time.
Look forward to seeing you.

North side of Sawyers Arms Road between Highsted and Gardiners.

As Simon said, very hard to miss. Huge car park around the back, entrance to the bar from the rear. Oooh errrrr!

Was great to get along and meet more of the Canterbury detectorists :)

After the mention of domain names etc at the meeting, i came home and registered a few domains myself ;P

canterburymetaldetecting.com
canterburymetaldetecting.co.nz
canterburymetaldetecting.org.nz
canterburymetaldetecting.net.nz

At the moment, they all just point to my blog page, but once we get the club up and running,
im happy to have them all point to a club website, and rename my personal one ^^

Heres hoping we all decide on a "Canterbury Metal Detecting" type of name for the club ;) lol
