Hi Guys and Girls, Been a bit slack lately & a bit busy, if that makes sense. A bit of a round up of the last four hunts, nothing exiting but that's the way she goes............

#44 A few NZ Pennies, 1937 UK half, type set, $5 goldies etc.
.....................................................................................

#45 Nice little promising spot I checked out one arvo coming home from Central. Basically only had about half hour of daylight before the lights were turned out on me.

........................................................................................

#46 Was a little night hunt with Gaurdian @ a new spot which turned out to be a bit of a fizzer. Better luck next time

.........................................................................................

Finally #47 A nice warm Otago evening (as normal) lol. A few Pennies $7 goldies, etc

No Silvers to be seen anywhere, maybe next time.
Happy hunting

Hunt #49 even if I say so myself was what I like to call a success (quote from Miranda)
I have been to this spot before, but this time I slowed things down a lot, and it had been raining for a couple of days, which is quite unusual for down here. So the saturated ground probably helped a bit, although nothing was especially deep.

On to the good stuff first......
Two badges a 1906-7 NZ Exhibition (CH-CH) wondered if it may have been worn and lost at our 1925 Dunedin Exhibition? and a
NZ Field Artillery WW1 badge, NZ Forces button, 3 X silvers 1889 &1922 Sixpence and 1909 thrup.

One pretty nice 1877 Penny (pretty much came out of the ground like that) 4 X Britt half Pennies 1898, 1900, 1903, ???? a 1952 NZ Penny,
remains of a purse (no sovs or coins for that matter anywhere near it),pocket knife, old watch, kettle, lock, etc, etc.

Enjoyable hunting everyone Iggy

iggy,
good haul amigo.
NZFA badge looks mint, beautiful relic.
great silvers, coppers, marble.
glad to see you are collecting lead head nails as well.
but,
lower right in picture #2, under the picnic knife blade,
what are they? some sort of brass military adornment?
shoulder lapels? could we have a close-up?
well done once again, good work. cheer.
mickey.

Thanks mickey, they are the remains of the purse, quite gutted it wasn't full of silvers or something better. It was quite a way off the main track who knows it might have been stolen.

G I FOUND SOME G
Hi all hope all is well in your worlds. Yes I know what you are thinking, no real excuses just been super lazy, too much MTBing and very little swinging lol.
One great thing about the forum is it helps to keep the motivation levels high seeing all the awesome and sometimes less awesome finds that are constantly being discovered. So I must visit more often!
Speaking of laziness, (ignoring yet another pull tab signal) I finally managed to unearth my first gold ring the other day happy happy. Don't think its too flash but I will take it.
Pics are of last three hunts cheers all Iggy

Hi guys bit of a round up of last three outings, two of which showed promise for a future revisit.
A lot of the usual junk as expected along with 3 UK half pennies 2 Aus some NZ silvers a nice little earing it has some markings on it but I can't make it out and a 1942 Nederl Indie coin and a 1994 Danmark 25 Ore which I thought was another horrible one cent price.

Until next time happy hunting

Hi Iggy

Congrats on the gold ring. They're some great finds you've got there over the last few years. I'm based in Dunedin and just got myself a Gold Bug a week or so back. If you've ever got some free time would you be interested showing a new guy to the seen around some time? would be cool to learn a few tips and meet a some fellow Dunedin Detectorists.

Cheers

Mark

Evening all managed to sneak in another wee hunt....I must have enjoyed myself the other night. Another ring yippee although I think its only a junker,(I cant tell) but its round and I'll take it regardless. First dig Shilling.... this is promising pulled a couple of silvers, a few pennies etc.
Best find by far for me was Andre The Giant... talk about bringing back memories although the Bushwackers were my fav.
Overall nothing too spectacular but good to get out again.

Well who would have guessed its September and still snowing.... what's up with that I wonder? Anyway had a bit of a rethink for the last two hunts and decided to add a bit of water to spice things up a wee bit..... and had a ball.
First H2o hunt first target ring....third target another ring sweet, 90 % sure they are coppers but still good to entice them from the mud. What I should have done but didn't was some nice slow spirals as both were very close together, maybe next time I will remember this move.
Pulled about half the shown items from the second night hunt after work one night including 1949 Aus thrup, 1936 thrup, 1964 sixpence, 1948 shilling, 1961 florin etc etc.
Recap lots and lots of targets....but very hard to retrieve with the wrong equipment.
Good luck all Iggy
