Very nice man, four rings in one hunt is great going. Were you detecting at the beach
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

Not a beach but, there was an island of sorts :). I was just out at a spot I found in the city over the weekend that was an old tram line stop – no trams anymore just buses.

Thanks Mudwiggle - looking forward to gold also! I was really happy with that 1800’s ring. I see it has a hallmark of some kind on each side of the date but, can’t quite make them out. Anyway doesn't matter now as my wife has commandeered it :)

Didn't look closely at that pic first time round.
They hadn't invented Made in China back then, so good chance it's rose gold - In which case, well done!

Only one thing better than gold, and that's old gold :)

Great finds m8,I hear you about the wife taking the rings, but at least they are being used instead of stored away, anyway us blokes don't really suit ladies rings lol

Had 40 minutes out yesterday while my son was in the playground. Did a ground balance and basically stood in one spot did a 360 and pulled 7 silvers. Got my first OZ silver and my oldest silver 1880.

Hit rates like this could almost persuade a guy to move to Wellington...

Very impressive.

I just found a James Wallace Grocer Wellington 1859 - 1 penny token, a silver ring and a small watch face in the same hole.

Totally agree – they have so much local history. I love the amount of detailed information there is out there about each token.

Went for a drive yesterday and stopped off at Otaki for lunch and spent around 40 minutes out with the ATP while the others went shopping - found some small silver ring/charm?, loads of coins and a NZ Forces button - best of all it was way warmer than Wellington :)

I was only out 20 minutes today, I got to signal number 9 then my little shovel died *snap* but, that last signal was a 1834 silver so happy with that – also got a little 1937 Wellington CC tag.

That's a very nice piece of Bill the Fourth silver.
You're killing it down there!

Must be a sovereign by Christmas at this rate?
