If i suss out when there's good weather there, areas to detect and pan, sluice , accommodation and an altogether cost. Is there enough interest as the last get together was great.

Labour day could be made into a long weekend or whole week

Is accomodation optional for those with campers and tents.. how was the previous one done

We found our own accomadation last time, if you wanting to tent there a couple people on here that mite let ya in there back yard too, ya never know. Theres also a lodge for groups or plenty of accomadation at diff places depending on your reference

Yep, I'm in. The Reefton area is on my list of places to fossick. Someone just needs to let the locals know we are coming... the sight of large group of detectorists suddenly descending on their quite community maybe a bit disturbing.

Labor Weekend sounds ideal, we just need a gathering point where we can discus our plan of attack. The local camping ground may have a communal lounge like the one at Lawrence. That worked well the last time as a meeting place.

An interesting place for a possible visit is the ghost town of Waiuta. Not sure if you need any special permission to go there but it would be a great place for all you detectorists. Can any of you Coasters tell us if this is a good site to visit or not? Just throwing some ideas out there.

I'm sure Kiwi Keith knows of dozens of ghost towns and good spots, just read his past posts for a gd start. It may pay to divide into groups tho as if too many ppl hit one area then its gunna be a recipe for complaints etc. Just my 2c.
