So...how does this work?
Is it along the lines of scattered buckshot over a paddock and he who finds the most wins

I can't see someone turning up with an Ace 250 having a chance against a CTX3030 otherwise.

Just curious

It will mostly be stages of discrimination; 20 cents from pull tabs, $2 from screw tops, lead head nails from sixpence, rings from random junk, that sort of thing, plus one stage of timed grid search. No tiny deep targets buried in black sand or anything like that. My concern is that I am setting it up to be a challenge for Fisher detectors, an Ace 250 might clean up.

Gday Robert, looks like a great time and good luck on the day with it all.
Me and Ace would love to be there but a bit out of my way im afraid.
Watch out for those 250's as there quick little things but im sure the Fishers will cause some upsets.
Good luck again, fantastic idea.

For sure, i have often thought about one on the main beach but never got around to how to plan it. Should catch you up after your one to see how it all went etc. Looking forward to the results, exciting stuff.

NZ Detecting Championships Update:

The campground we will be staying in is 152 years old. It was very popular 100+ years ago and people would travel from as far away as Dunedin by horse and buggy to camp in the summer. There are reports that there were as many as 1700 people there at one time. The playground equipment was built for a fair in England, and subsequently went from Dunedin to the campground in the 1920's or 1930's. There are 6 cabins with 1-4 bunks, mostly used by hunters, but we will have as many as we need. There are 4 powered RV hookups and unlimited tent sites. There is a kitchen with an electric stove, but few pots and utensils. A refrigerator-freezer, and hot showers.

Lawrence/Gabriels Gully isn't far away for a bit of gold panning, and the Gore A & P show will be on.

Asides from Team Fisher, will there be any other authorized NZ Metal Detector Dealers at this event?

It would be great to see some of the different products on offer in NZ - I cant wait to swing one of those guys F75's with the NEW upgrades -

Also to try out some of the other key brand units -
