Iggy

I have found a few nice ship pennies at this site.
I really believe that there is a sovereign hiding somewhere amongst the thousands of tear tabs, canslaw and 2 cent pieces.

Side trip down a side road off a deadend road to a reserve that old maps show once had a house on it.
Old chain links and 3 lead heads for my lunchtime spent searching.

3d spot comes through with double silver (sort of)
1946 silver 3d
Rugby badge made by precision badges.
Silver plated fork.
The fork was completely masked by canslaw. Got to recheck those holes. ..

Down the line for work checked out a reserve near the motel got a few old decimal and a old squished aluminum Bushells Tea of Favor advertising thimble.
Decided to try a boat ramp thing I spotted on Google maps and after a little bush bash found a little beach and some sort of pumping station.
Got my lunch money for tomorrow and a pretty .925 silver ring with CZ stones.

I thought when I found it that it was only plated as the gold was only showing in the depressions. But it polished up easily.
it's got a GS 9ct hallmark but the workmanship is pretty average and it's too small for any of my female magpies so I may cut/file it to check at a later date.

Finally got a gold acid test kit today. The bracelet is NOT gold dispite the hallmarks.. My golden apple charm is only 14k gold plated. The ring I got in Queenstown in January is not gold.
well worth the investment for getting a clear answer.

Bugger. That'd be enough to put people off buying a kit!
I reckon it's quite common though, especially in various third world countries with a transient tourist trade.
I've got a South American Puma ring, stamped 925, and while it may have been silver in colour once - it's definitely bog copper now.

Fortunately, my gold collection is 100% genuine to date, Although I do have a great toy available at work :)

Bet I've just jinxed it now! LOL.

I have an attractive gold bracelet that is way too light to be gold.
I think it probably gold anodized aluminium from the Indian continent.
Looks good though.

Stopped at a park for lunch while on the road for work.
found a IPhone, 1921 Britannia penny, $1 and a golf ball.
Phone rang not long after I found it and it was returned to a relieved owner. No reward though :(
