Hi, think your bottle is a very common string rim champagne bottle (reused for beer in nz) probably dates about 1890

Gidday folks, I thought I might as well post a picture of these finds. Still waiting conditions to get back to the glory days of last winter. I had another play in some mud closer to home and came up with these. The 1921 threepence was found last weekend right where the recent trade tokens came from. On that hunt I also eyeballed the clay pipe piece that the treasures are sitting on. Today I went to a nearby beach and found some snider? (big slugs with three rings) bullets and a silver ring with what may be a piece of greenstone. Also found a strange accumulation of 1 and two cent coins in a spot where it looked like some rubble had been dumped down the bank to the sea. I shall endeavour to post pictures of something with a more appropriate/yellower colour soon. Hopefully tomorrow!

Sorry..... No gold today either.... It seems that I was detecting at the local shooting gallery today. I don't mind finding the odd bullet here and there but this was a bit more than usual. I didn't even get any old coins or silver today. At least the weather was on my side today.

A culmination to the Warren Serge Zuder (apparently he was known as "Rusty") dog tag saga.
Today I had a visit from a kind gentleman who is a relative of the Zuder's. He was recently in America and was tasked with the delivery of extending the family's gratitude to me. Apparently all in of the rellies were well pleased to receive their piece of family history.

The chap today dropped of an envelope and a nice bottle of wine for me. Now the wine I should definitely share with Mudwiggle and The Hatter as they did all the hard work of tracking down the family, but I doubt the bottle will last that long.

The envelope contained a nice thank you note and along with it a service record of Rustys' as well as a photo of him in his service days and a more recent one. How cool to be able to put a face to the name.

I'd like to thank all those who contributed and those who didn't for sharing the ride. Also thanks his family for taking the time to respond.

I have attached a photo of the gifts below. Its large so you can zoom in on the pictures of Rusty.
Cheers.

Hi Mr1864 Hatter

That is just so moving. I gave him a salute. And you one too, and Mudwiggle Sometimes you don't find treasure in the ground. You find history.
And the three of us, together bought it all together, we are indeed Detectorist's. I hope you put this up on Steve Hersbachs Forum.

Cheers Trev aka " The Other Mad Hatter" lol

That 9ct, 4gm ring in the background looks old. Is it hallmarked?.....does it have a year date letter?
Congrats on a fine haul.

This is for a few different hunts, and yes lots of rubbish dug to get these. Number 8, the ring just has 9ct stamped on it.
