Hi stu & myself are coming on Saturday. see the weather is going to be shit, So I thought maybe, the people that are still going, we could meet up at marble hill. Or meet at spring Junction at the Alpine café for a cupper & meet you

That's my thoughts Cheers Robbie

For those persevering, the weather forecast looks set to ease on Sunday after alot of rain Saturday into Sunday. At the moment Monday and Tuesday look not too bad, maybe even good with odd shower. Maybe snow on the passes on Sunday night. I also look at river levels at http://www.wcrc.govt.nz/...r_level_rainfall/7_days. Still thinking about Sunday/Monday even if I don't make it over for Saturday. For anyone over there what's it really like? Just in case hope you all that's going have a great time. Andy.

That is somewhat encouraging, I get the feeling that the weather system is highly energetic and that although there will be showers and we may get wet, it won't last long. Hopefully there will be some gaps in the bad stuff, just be prepared for wind and rain.

I'll be hitting the road at sparrow fart tomorrow and will see you all at Marble hill.

Cheers, Ken.

We looks like we just gunna take the gamble then and leave at 6.30am, from my calculations, it should be about 2.5 hours away? I'll text Chrispy in the morning and see if things have changed.

Looks like its up to you Keith to call it on the weather. You know best about the area i'm sure.

got back late last night left everyone getting gold in their pans
the river was way to high to cross so after some talking and standing round in the rain we decided to walk up the lake daniels track
this looked quite a sight must have been 10 I think all carrying shovels, buckets, pans etc marching up the track stopped at the first flat where small colour was found in the Alfred . moonlight and I went up a bit further the gold showed in the first pan and was sitting in the cracks after splitting them open, so back to the rest and so the word spread through the camp and all up tools and headed to the new site, just like in the old days.
conclusion everyone got gold and very wet
