I think I missed you lol
it was good I found out how to work my gold bug . only had it for about 6mths look out the aorere valley next time im up there

first photo note the lovely colour of the water but the bank on the other side had a good rust seam through it pity the river was to high to get to it

Hi All. Big thanks to all that true up on Saturday ,good to meet yours. We had a wee play in the river get same colour, put that was only half the fun. As meeting same of the people from the form was really great. we got bleed wet,lof. So I left and drive to Westport as I've ever been there before, stayed the night, next day drive to the moonligt & a look at the river & a small play, no luck to many rocks, to big,, so off to Goldsborough that's a nice spot had a play & got same colour great a . then back home. Great week end

Well the weather was really against us BUT i did find a silver at 9.30pm in the pissing down rain in the forest, all geared up was quite fun, found plenty bullets mostly blanks 3 pennys 2 were english, 1 and 2c as well, had to do something even in the rain. Great to meet everyone! found color met some great blokes got the wickedest cramp ever body in shock fopr doing exercise and tramped a fair few miles. Next get together HAS to be in the summertime lol great to meet ya Rob, Chris and tanae top blokes.....oh no pics either

that's not a bad haul. more than i have after several trips to the coast. it still is a dam addictive hobby though even if i wont ever get rich doing it.

Nice got some good size flakes there! did you stay long once i left? did the river go down? i still have to finish panning the moss i grabbed then ill post some pics, how did rob go in the end?Thanks for the great company too :)

Hi All

thanks to good to go and kiwikeith for the great weekend at marble hill pity about the weather had a great day was good to meet a few members found a nice bit of gold was good showing people about getting gold out of the moss made me get the bug back . Headed to Westport on Saturday night then took moonlight picker up to moonlight creek then down to Goldsborough then back over to ashburton. Looking to head back to Goldsborough next free weekend I get . Was a great weekend hope to catch up again.

did you do anything at moonlight cavey and how was the water level at Goldsborough. it was real low last time I was there a month or so ago.

Yeah Spent a few hours at moonlight river was up a bit found bugger all . Plenty of water in the creek at Goldsborough spent a few hours there gold in each pan the place gets thrashed a lot but always seems to be gold there one of my favourite places heading there in the next couple of weeks depending on the weather.

Finally back home in Blenheim. Had a great weekend meeting everyone and getting some colour.Many thanks Natalia for organising the weekend and Keith for sharing your knowledge.Hope we can do it all again and the weather is kinder next time.

What are the chances of one of these outings being organised for Waitangi weekend next year, after all it will be well into summer...... just a thought.... :)
