Wee night hunt in the Mother of Christchurch parks, 5 Silvers and a cool little pocket spill of what seems to have been an old wallet, still has leather on the coins.

Thanks LKD it is cool to dig up something like that, I think it may have been like a little leather pouch rather than a wallet.
By best Wallet find was at a country domain, had a few silvers and penny's and even a ferry ticket from late 1930s

No wasn't to deep at all, maybe 4 inches, found in the Mother of Christchurch parks in an area where we have all probably scanned over dozens of times...well I know no8wire has lol.
Just found that little missed patch and there are still lots of little patches to be found

Hi All, just to let ya know I am still around and will still post, I've just had a wee bit of a dry run as I been exploring new areas and have fractured my foot. Hope to be up and about soon and will be hitting it hard this winter. Also a bit of News from the Detecting FB page, a fella in Nelson found a 1875 Sydney Mint half Sov !!!

1st hunt out since my injury with No8wire, was a hot hot day out in the paddock with an audience, back to the place where I hurt my poor wee foot, but was rewarded with a worn Victoria sixpence.
We then decided to move on under the shade to a bush area where out popped another 2 silvers, few bullets and other bits and bobs.
Roll on winter !!!

Great day out with no8wire at a spot I had been looking at doing for sometime after quite a bit of research, and its paid off big time.
Pulled out some silver firsts, 1861 Gothic Florin (worn) and a 1907 Standing Britannia.
25 Silvers it total including 3 half crowns and a nice old-ish chunky bracelet.
I also unearthed a decorative wee box, and inside was a complete rosary with blue ceramic beads, was well stoked with that as its a different thing to find.
Other finds of course was the pile of penny's and bits and bobs, cant wait to get back there.

Sure was an awesome day mate. Looking forward to a repeat next hunt....
Those Rosary beads were a cool surprise in that wee tin...certainly not what I was expecting to see as you prized it open.
Gotta say tho, I recon find(s) of the day was definitely the .925 bracelet (just stunning) followed very closely by the standing Britannia and Gothic florin..........you win with all three ma man! Great work.

Excellent result from the new spot, the ship and man are pretty cool one off's too. You've got to be happy with that lot, 50 silvers between two is good going that's for sure.

Another successful 3 hour hunt last night with no8wire at "The spot" found another two firsts a 1890 and 1891 Jubilee Victoria shillings and 11 silvers in total.
Another great find was a Christchurch Great exhibition medallion.

Geez mate, nice haul. The medalette came up even better than I thought it would....great score. Congrats on the Jubilee Head Shillings too.....another one to tick off the list! That's three bucket listers in two hunts....incredible!
